Privacy Policy

Last updated May 20, 2026

Placeholder. This policy is structured to align with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and standard ministry data-handling practice. Have your DPO or legal counsel review before launch.

1. Who we are

Jesus is Alive Community — Cagayan de Oro("we", "us") collects and processes personal data in compliance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173) and the rules issued by the National Privacy Commission.

2. What information we collect

We collect personal data you provide directly: name, email, phone, address, date of birth, family information, prayer requests, giving history, attendance, ministry involvement, and any details you submit through forms. We may also collect technical data such as IP address and device information automatically.

3. Why we collect it (lawful basis)

We process your data to (a) operate church ministry programs, (b) fulfill our legitimate interest in pastoral care, (c) keep administrative records of giving and membership, and (d) communicate with you about church activities. Where required, we obtain your consent — including the consent box you tick at registration.

4. How we use your data

Your information is used for member management, event registration, attendance tracking, growth-track enrollment, prayer-request handling, pastoral care, communications, and giving records. It is never sold or rented.

5. Sharing

We share data only with authorized church staff and ministry leaders who need it for the purpose for which it was collected. Confidential prayer requests and pastoral counseling are restricted to the pastoral team. We use trusted processors (Supabase for database hosting, Resend for email, Vercel for hosting) under data-protection agreements.

6. Your rights

Under the DPA, you have the right to: (a) be informed, (b) object, (c) access, (d) correct, (e) erase or block, (f) damages, (g) data portability, and (h) lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

7. Retention

We retain personal data while you are a member or contact of the church and for a reasonable period after, except where law requires longer retention (e.g. financial records).

8. Security

Data is stored on secured infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is role-based: members see only their own data; ministry leaders see only their ministry; admins see church-wide data.

9. Cookies

We use a small set of cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

10. Children

For minors, we ask a parent or guardian to consent on the minor's behalf when registering them for ministry programs.

11. Changes

We will update this policy as practices evolve. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
